About Lucky Lotteries

Lucky Lotteries is NSW-only and works nothing like the other games. You don't pick numbers — each ticket comes with a pre-assigned random number, so every single ticket has exactly the same chance. There are two versions: Mega Jackpot (starts at $4 million) and Super Jackpot (starts at $2 million). The pots grow with every ticket sold until someone wins.

How to Play

Buy a ticket and that's it — your number is already on it and can't be changed. Mega Jackpot tickets cost $5.50, Super Jackpot tickets are $2.20. When a draw happens, if your ticket number matches the one drawn, you win the jackpot. Available at NSW lottery outlets and online. Dead simple.

Odds and Prize Divisions

Mega Jackpot: about 1 in 2,700,000 per ticket. Super Jackpot: about 1 in 1,350,000. These are fixed odds — they don't change no matter how many tickets are sold or how big the jackpot gets. Each game has 5 prize divisions for smaller wins. Jackpots have no ceiling and keep growing until won.

Tips for Playing Lucky Lotteries

Since every ticket is equally likely to win, there's no number strategy here. The choice comes down to Mega Jackpot (bigger prize, longer odds) versus Super Jackpot (smaller prize, better odds). Check both jackpot amounts before buying — sometimes one offers noticeably better value than the other.

Where to Buy Lucky Lotteries Tickets

Lucky Lotteries tickets are available at authorised lottery outlets across Australia, including newsagents and selected retail stores. You can also purchase tickets online through The Lott official website (thelott.com) or via The Lott mobile app. Ticket sales typically close at approximately 7:25 PM AEST on draw nights. For online purchases, you will need to create a free account and be a resident of Australia.

Claiming Lucky Lotteries Prizes

Prize claiming procedures vary by state and prize amount. Prizes up to $1,500 can be claimed at any lottery outlet. Larger prizes may need to be claimed at a lottery office or through a bank transfer. If you purchased your ticket online through The Lott, prizes up to $1,500 are automatically deposited into your account. Larger prizes will require identity verification. You typically have up to 6 years from the draw date to claim your prize, depending on the state.
